FROM THE PROVOST’S DESK

                                                                       OUR YEAR OF GREATER GLORY”

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord”.     (II Cor. 3:18.)

My Dearly Beloved People of God,

I want to thank God who has brought us to the beginning of another year. Year 2015 is a proof that God sits in heaven and does whatever pleases Him. He, according to Ps. 34:4 “delivered us from all our fears’ in 2015. We never had it that way before – smooth taking over of power at the Federal without any bloodletting. It could have been only through the grace of God.

Individually, there is no doubt we experienced the divine sufficiency of God. If only we can look back and count the blessings we received in 2015. The same God has promised to take us to greater glory this year 2016.

When one follows closely the economic statistics in the media one may want to doubt the possibility of greater glory. The free fall of the naira against the dollar, the price of crude oil and other parameters may want to create fear in us. The One who has promised is “not a man for him to lie not the son of man for Him to repent” Num. 23:19. When he speaks, it comes to pass. Gen. 26:1-13 lends credit to the assertion that God is able to bring to greater height in not too conducive conditions. There was famine in the land of Gerrar. Isaac was instructed to stay. This he did. He planted in the land in the same year that there was famine. The result? He harvested a hundred fold. He “waxed great and went forward, and grew until he became very great” Gen. 26:12-13.

CAVEAT! For God to fulfil His word we must be ready to be obedient to His directives. We must be more diligent in serving him. Let us resolve to be closer to God this year by reading, listening, studying and meditating on His Word. Our prayer life must be completely over- hauled. He has promised to bring out water in the desert for us. It is needful on our part to position ourselves to receive this.

As we journey through this year I pray that the Almighty God will send His pillars to lead us. We all shall end this year rejoicing. God bless you.
